Booker Taliaferro Jefferson

Mr. Booker T. Jefferson, age 72 of Jeffersonville, Indiana and formerly of Todd County, passed away on Tuesday October 21^st at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in New Albany, Indiana of natural causes.

Mr. Jefferson was born October 2, 1942 in Elkton the son of the late Malcolm and Rosa Martin Jefferson.  He served in the United States Army and was a managing member of Ikon Construction Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as three brothers William Lee and Charles Rutledge Jefferson and an infant.  He is survived by his wife Bennie Jean Jefferson of Jeffersonville, Indiana; one son Michael Jefferson of Brashear, Texas; one daughter Andrea Jefferson of Evansville, Indiana; three brothers Eugene Jefferson of Elkton, James and Smith Jefferson both of Louisville; one sister Daisey Mae Weatherby of Louisville; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation with the Jefferson family will be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 10:00 until funeral service time at the First Baptist Church in Elkton.  Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday at 12:00 at the First Baptist Church in Elkton with Rev. Alex Shanklin officiating.  Interment will follow at the Elkton Cemetery.
