Mr. Ernest “E.L. Warren, Jr., age 82 of Guthrie, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at his home.
He was born July 14, 1934 in Hickman County, Tennessee the son of the late Ernest and Martha Nickell Warren. He was a member of the Guthrie UMC, VFW, Elks Lodge and a Kentucky Colonel. He served in the United States Navy and was a farmer. He loved hunting and fishing especially in Colorado. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Billie Warren and one sister Elizabeth Wilson. He is survived by two sons Gary Warren of the Hadensville community and Ernest C. Warren of Clarksville; one daughter Connie B. Warren of Bowling Green; one brother Jon Warren of Guthrie and four sisters Mary Frances Matthews of Hermitage, Tennessee, Floy Philbrick of Franklin, Kentucky, Wilma Payne of Sango, Tennessee and Susan Joseph of Clarksville. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation with the Warren family will be on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Chapel of the Cook-Webb Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Basinger officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Guthrie.
