James Robert Cardwell

Mr. James Robert Cardwell, age 86 of Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday morning, November 27th at the Hillside Center Healthcare in Madisonville, Kentucky of natural causes.

He was born May 16, 1929 in Butler County, Kentucky the son of the late Elzie Ray and Lillie Taylor Cardwell.  He was a member of the Kelly Holiness Church.  He was a retired farmer and he loved his family, hunting, fishing and working outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife of 50 years Clara Cardwell in 2010 and one son James Robert Cardwell Jr.  He is survived by two sons Ray Cardwell of Crofton and Daril Cardwell of Cadiz; four daughters Darlene Harrell, Virginia Smith, Teressa Humphrey all of Georgia and Jennifer Beck of Hopkinsville; one brother Jimmy Cardwell of Madisonville and one sister Jennie Lee Hill of Benton, Kentucky.  Also surviving are twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.

Visitation with the Cardwell family will be on Saturday from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home.  Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Leak officiating.  Interment will follow at the Higgins Cemetery in Anton, Kentucky.
