James Harry Gardner

Mr. James Harry Gardner, age 73 of Hornbeak, Tennessee at Realfoot Lake and formerly of Allensville, passed away on Sunday morning, November 20, 2016 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, Tennessee of natural causes.

He was born March 29, 1943 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky the son of the late Harry “Turk” and Mary Nell Majors Gardner.  He was a member of the Allensville Church of Christ.  He served in the United States Army where he was a Vietnam Veteran.  He loved his wife of 43 years, his family, fishing, hunting and loved to BBQ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother William “Bill” Gardner.  He is survived by his wife Shirley Gardner of Hornbeak, Tennessee; one son J.V. Gardner of Hornbeak, TN; three daughters Lori Richards of Hornbeak, TN., Kim Wheeler of Elkton, KY and Debra Gardner of Hornbeak, TN; one brother Danny Gardner of Louisville, KY; two sisters Judy Coleman and Joanne Goad both of Olmstead, KY.  Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation with the Gardner family will be on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home.  Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Shane Hessey officiating.  Interment will be on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 at the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Obion, Tennessee.
