Lillian J. Washington

Mrs. Lillian J. Washington, age 82 of Adairville, passed away on Thursday, October 19^th at the Medical Center in Bowling Green of natural causes.

She was born May 30, 1935 daughter of the late Sidney and Anna (King) Hyde. 

She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and graduated from the Knob City High School.  She was a devoted member of the Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church and retired from the Logan County School System after 35 years.  She loved God, her family, friends, cooking, gardening and Christian word-find books. She always enjoyed caring for others and giving candy or whatsoever she chose to do for friends and anyone she met.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 65 years Reverend William Washington of Adairville; two sons Michael Washington (Sandra) of Henderson, KY and Rodney Washington (Lisa) of Nashville, TN; one daughter Wanda Sanders of Russellville; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as one son Steven Washington; one daughter Wendy Washington; seven brothers Allie Ray, Odell, James, Nathaniel, Harold, Sidney Junior and Paul Hyde and two sisters Martha Hyde and Caldonia Hyde Cardell.

Lillian was surrounded and loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friend Cornelius Gamble, adopted daughter Carolyn Fishback and friends.

Visitation with the Washington family will be on Tuesday from 11:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 at the Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church in Adairville, Kentucky with Pastor Leroy Fishback officiating.  Interment will follow at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Adairville.
