Mrs. Louise Carter, age 92 of Elkton, passed away on Friday evening, November 11, 2016 at the Hearthstone Place in Elkton of natural causes.
She was born March 3, 1924 in Todd County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Shug and Katie Carter Shoemake. She was a member of the Elkton Baptist Church and she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Porter Carter; three brothers Earl, John and Willie Thomas Shoemake and three sisters Moramay Carter, Lucy Chapman and Rosie Lee Self. She is survived by three sons Timmy Carter of Elkton, Randy Carter of Kirkmansville and Ralph Carter of Hopkinsville; one daughter Carolyn Duncan of Springfield, Tennessee and one sister Betty Sue Shoemake. Also surviving are six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Visitation with the Carter family will be on Tuesday from 11:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home in Guthrie. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 in the chapel of the Cook-Webb Funeral Home with Rev. Mendell Inscoe officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Guthrie.
