Marshall Sidebottom

Mr. Marshall Elwood Sidebottom, age 79 of Elkton, passed away on Sunday afternoon November 23^rd at 1:26 at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, Kentucky of natural causes.

Mr. Sidebottom was born July 26, 1935 in Campbellsville, Kentucky the son of the late C.W. and Ethel Shaffner Sidebottom. 

He was a member of Trenton Assembly of God. He was the owner of WEKT Gospel Radio Station 1070 Elkton and former owner of WIRV in Irvine, Kentucky.  He worked for 63 years in radio broadcasting across Kentucky.  He started in 1951 at WLCK in Munfordsville and worked with the following radio stations WTLO of Somerset, KY, WMOR of Morehead, KY, WEKY of Richmond, KY and WVKY of Louisa, KY.  He loved community and people, plus high school and college play by play sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as one brother Thomas Sidebottom and one sister Jean Shaffner.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years Ruby Green Sidebottom of Elkton; three sons Brian Sidebottom (Tamara) of Elkton, Sidney R. Sidebottom of Bowling Green and Karl C. Rankin Jr. (Peggy) of Elkton; four daughters Cindy Hurley (Greg) of Somerset, Kentucky, Venda Burchett (Tony) of Winchester, Kentucky, Vicki Slater of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and Eva Hemsoth (Brian) of Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Visitation with the Sidebottom family will be on Tuesday evening November 25^th from 5:00 until 8:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home.  Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday morning November 26^th at 11:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Dorsey officiating.  Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton.
