Mrs. Virginia Rissler, age 63 of Hopkinsville, passed away on Wednesday evening March 18th at 5:50 at her home of natural causes.
She was born July 1, 1951 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late William and Martha Weaver Martin. She was a member of the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church in Pembroke.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Christian Rissler of Hopkinsville; six sons Daniel, James and Samuel Rissler all of Hopkinsville, Lloyd Rissler of Elkton, David Rissler of Versailles, Missouri and Marcus Rissler of the home; five daughters Lois Zimmerman of Pembroke, Mary Hoover of Constable, New York, Dorcas Martin of Elkton, Mabel and Ruth Rissler both of the home; two brothers Clarence Martin of Martindale, Pennsylvania and Michael Martin of New Holland, Pennsylvania; four sisters Violet Weaver of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, Eleanor Martin and Grace Stauffer both of New Holland, Pennsylvania and Ruth Landis of Unionville, Missouri. Also surviving are thirty-eight grandchildren.
Visitation with the Rissler family will be on Sunday March 22nd from 2:00 to 4:00 and again from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Rissler home at 1050 George Shaw Road, Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Monday morning at 9:00 at the Rissler home and at 9:30 at the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church on 2280 Vaughns Grove Fairview Road, Pembroke, Kentucky with Amon Hoover, Benjamin Zimmerman and Luke Burkholder officiating. Interment will follow at the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church Cemetery.
