Clarence Camp, Jr. Obituary

Clarence Lee Camp, Jr., age 90 of Guthrie, passed away on September 18, 2019 at the Hearthstone Place in Elkton of natural causes.

He was born April 3, 1929 in Trenton, Kentucky the son of the late Clarence and Beunice Daniel Camp.

Affectionately known as “Bud”, he lived a simple yet purposeful life.  His happiest times were spent farming alongside his father on the family farm near Trenton.  During his early years he attended the Kentucky School for the Blind in Louisville where he learned the art of chair caning.  Several of the chair seats he crafted are still in use around the Trenton and Guthrie area.  Clarence Lee was a devoted member of the Guthrie Church of Christ where he worshipped for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and their husbands, Jane Camp Smith (Kermit), Claire Camp Tipps (George) and Mary Camp Walker (James).  He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including former Todd County natives Sam Smith (Jane) of Owensboro and Dan Smith (Margaret Ann) of Longwood, Florida and Asheville, North Carolina.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 1:00 until funeral service time at 2:00 at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home in Guthrie with Ronny Milliner officiating.  Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton.
