Mrs. Datha Lee Triplett Carter, age 87 of Adams, Tennessee just outside of Guthrie, passed away on Thursday, September 6th at her home.
She was born December 5, 1930 in Mounds, Illinois the daughter of the late Claude Clayton and Bertha Lee Sheridan Triplett.
She was a member of Guthrie Baptist. She loved her family and enjoyed sewing, cooking and flower gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Julian Carter (2012); two brothers James and John Triplett and one sister Betty Sue Triplett Malray. She is survived by two daughters Janet Burkes (Floyd) and Julia Nottingham (Aubrey) both of Clarksville; one son Robert Carter of Cullman, Alabama; one brother Billy Dale Triplett of Paducah, Kentucky; three sisters Mildred Triplett Barnett of Mayfield, Kentucky, Shirley Triplett Rowton and Cynthia Triplett Colson both of Paducah, Kentucky; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation with the Carter family will be on Monday from 11:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home with Rev. Kimbrough Simmons officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery.
