Mr. Forrest Russell Evans, Jr., age 69 of Elkton, passed away on Thursday, March 8th at his home of natural causes.
He was born March 21, 1948 in Picher, Oklahoma the son of the late Forrest Russell Evans, Sr. and Juanita Watson Evans Lawson.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist. He served in the United States Marines where he was Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, UK Basketball, outdoors and loved his family and beloved pet Rylee.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his step father Charles Lawson, Sr.; three brothers Richard Evans, William Evans, Sr., and Kenny Akers; four sisters Betty Johnson, Linda Gilliland, Theresa Rhodes and Patsy Holtz and one grandson Matthew Jones. He is survived by his wife Margie Evans of Elkton; one son Jeffrey Evans of Elkton; two daughters Sharna Jones (Todd) and Beverly Moberly (Rodney) both of Elkton; two brothers David Lawson (Alexis) and Charles Lawson, Jr. (Robin) both of Oswego, Kansas; eight sisters Sharon Gero (Sonny) of Iowa, Anne Wilson (Holly) and Tina Johnson (Randy) both of Welch, Oklahoma, Shirley Yearton of Joplin, Missouri, Lenore Brown (Robert) of Oswego, Kansas, Holly Nave (Jim) of Chetopa, Kansas, Peggy Best of Oswego, Kansas and Judy Robbins of Minnesota; three grandsons Dakotah Jones, Michael Jones and Adam Moberly; one granddaughter Elizabeth Cunningham; one great grandson Elijah Jones and one great granddaughter Avery Cunningham.
Visitation with the Evans family will be on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Monday at 1:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Gregory and Shane Hessey officiating. Interment will follow at the Johnston Cemetery in Kirkmansville.
