Jimmy Roberson Obituary

Jimmy Dale Roberson, age 73 of Cedar Hill, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, April 5th at his home as a result of ischemic heart disease and synovial sarcoma cancer.

 

He was born April 26, 1945 in Tutwiler, Mississippi the son of the late W.M. “Bud” and Mary Elizabeth (Bradford) Roberson.

 

He grew up in Missouri and lived in Arizona for several years before eventually planting roots in Tennessee. He was Baptist by faith and served in the United States Army with the 69th Engineering Battalion (construction) and was a Vietnam Veteran where he received the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14 & Rifle M-16) and the Vietnam Service Medal.  He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, playing cards with his family and going to the casinos.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as one brother Bobby Roberson (1990) and two sisters Diane Mooring (2008) and Agnes Miller (2018).  He is survived by his wife of 47 years Carol Ann Carr Roberson of Cedar Hill along with their three daughters Melissa Baker (Tim Gibbs) of Springfield, Robin (Joey) Lamborn of Orlinda and Amy (Gary) Hall-Hubbell of Cedar Hill; two brothers Kenneth (Debbie) Roberson of Phoenix, Arizona and Carl David (Roely) Roberson of Cedar Hill and two sisters Beverly Roberson of Casa Grande, Arizona and Becky Mendoza of Coolidge, Arizona.  He was blessed with nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation with the Roberson family will be on Tuesday, April 9th at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home in Guthrie, Kentucky from 11:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 with Chaplain Terence Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Guthrie, Kentucky.
