Lois “Momma Lois” Hessey, age 82 of Elkton and formerly of Nashville, passed away on Thursday morning, December 27th at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.
She was born October 3, 1936 in Carthage, Tennessee the daughter of the late Clarence and Roberta Petty.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. She loved the family farm in Carthage and enjoyed being outdoors.
Mrs. Hessey was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Mike Hessey (2008). She is survived by two daughters Suzanne Hessey of Elkton, Kentucky and Sherry Hessey of Brentwood, Tennessee; one son Shane Hessey of Elkton, Kentucky; two grand daughters Kelsey Moore of Seattle, Washington and Lindsey Moore of St. Louis, Missouri and one brother Harold Petty of Nashville, Tennessee.
Visitation with the Hessey family will be on Sunday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Monday from 11:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 at the Woodbine Hickory Chapel in Nashville with Shane Hessey officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Family Estate at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Nashville.
