Obituary

Izeta Brown Martin, age 84 of Elkton, KY, passed away Friday afternoon, September 10, 2021 at her home after a long battle of cancer.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home. Visitation will also be on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church in Elkton, KY with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Matt Seel officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton. Mrs. Martin was born September 13, 1936 in Elkton, KY the daughter of the late Julius V. Brown and Erma Lee Hightower Robertson. She retired alongside with her husband, Novice Martin as co-owners of Martin Funeral Home. She was a member of Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church and was an active member of the United Methodist Women and Todd County Homemakers. She was a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was well known for her yeast rolls and cinnamon rolls.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Novice S. Martin, and two sisters, Helen Brown Deba and Mary Glenn Robertson. She is survived by her son, Robert Martin of Hopkinsville, KY; her daughter, Doris Kelly and her husband Jimmy of Guthrie, KY; and one grandchild, Jamie Perry and her husband Christian of Clarksville, TN. She also has four nieces, Lynn Campbell of Kingston Springs, TN, Stephanie Lauck of Raleigh, NC, Patricia Deba of Medford, OR, and Michele Saldanha of Cary, NC, and two nephews, Fred Martin of Hopkinsville, KY, and Mike Morrison of Ft. Mill, SC.

   

The family request that anyone who attends the services to please wear a mask to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society or to Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church for the church van fund.
