Joann Gilbert Obituary

Joann M. Gilbert, age 85 of Houston, Texas and formerly of Russellville, passed away on April 14^th at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center in Houston, Texas of natural causes.

Joann was born July 22, 1935 in Logan County, Kentucky to the late Millard and Jesse Gilbert.

She was a member of Bank Street AME Zion Church where she was an usher, deaconess and on the kitchen committee. She loved her family, friends, church and going on walks on sunny days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mylia Gilbert and Dorothy Gilbert Crenshaw and five brothers, Charles, Bennett, Houston, George and Joe Gilbert. She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla Gilbert Anderson of Houston, Texas; a grandson, Kevin Christopher Anderson; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and devoted friends.

Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 11:00 until 1:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service with Rev. Steven Walker Sr. officiating.

Mask will be required as well as social distancing and no hugging or shaking hands.
