Junior Higgins, age 84 of Elkton, passed away on Thursday, January 14th at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.
Junior was born February 19, 1936 in Allegre, Kentucky the son of the late Herbert and Mary Bell Segers Higgins.
He loved his family, friends and his friends in the Mennonite Community. He was known in Elkton for selling produce.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Kennedy and two brothers, Kenneth and Randy Higgins. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Higgins of Elkton; two sons, Gary Higgins (Rhonda) of Winter Haven, Florida and Brian Higgins (Jessica) of Clarksville, Tennessee; four daughters, Melissa Hill (Dennis) of Louisville, Kentucky, Tresa Ferguson (Jim) of Gibson City, Illinois, Tammy Higgins and Amanda Higgins (Tony) both of Elkton; two brothers, Tootie Higgins of Elkton and Stevie Higgins of Clarksville, Tennessee; twenty grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and a son in law Cliff Kennedy of Russellville.
Visitation with the Higgins family will be on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Hedge and Shane Hessey officiating. Interment will follow at the McColpin Cemetery in Allegre.
Mask will be required as well as social distancing and no hugging or shaking hands.
