Mary Cannon Obituary

Mary Laverna Cannon, age 78 of Springfield, Tennessee and formerly of Allensville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, February 21st at the Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee of natural causes.

 

She was born September 17, 1942 in Ferryville, Wisconsin the daughter of the late Royal and Pauline Kaminski Copper.

 

She was Catholic by faith and she served in the US Navy. She loved her family and enjoyed reading as well as dancing.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Copper; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Robert Flanders and three longtime friends, Louise Tomlinson, Flossie Utley and Randolph Watkins. She is survived by a son, Chuck Cannon of Elkton; two daughters, Diana Head (Larry) of Allensville and Cara Elliott of Springfield, Tennessee; three brothers, Jimmy Copper (Bonnie) of Wisconsin, David Copper (Diane) of Wisconsin and Ricky Copper of Louisiana; three sisters, Betty Adney of Iowa, Blanche Froiseth of Wisconsin and Donna Britain (Roger) of Minnesota; four grandchildren, Rebecca Sears (Eric) of Elkton, Jessica Head of Allensville, Alannah Fann (Jonathan) of Springfield, Tennessee and Mary Kate Gilliam (JR) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; three great grandchildren, Preston Head, Nevaeh Gilliam and Hendrix Gilliam and two longtime friends, Mary Lee Christmas and Linda “Tootie” Tomlinson.

 

Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Junior Tomlinson officiating. Interment will follow at the Cedar Grove Church Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

 

Mask will be required as well as social distancing and no hugging or shaking hands.
