I Recruited Johnny Neumann in 1969 while I was a Junior and other freshmen who were on Coach Rochelle's famous freshman team of 1970. He was a special coach to them and he will be surely be missed. In fact all of the Ole Miss basketball coaches at that time have all passed away.My best wishes to the family.

Sincerely,

Bodie Catlin

From Bodie Catlin OLE MISS Class of 1970

I am sorry to see that Coach Rochelle passed away last year. I was a student basketball recruiter at Ole Miss and primarily recruited Johnny Neumann with Coach Bill Bolton. I got to know Coach Rochelle very well. This is a great loss to us at ole miss. Thanks Bodie Catlin bodiecatlin@gmail.com

During my time in the Todd County School District I quickly learned to appreciate and respect his professional recommendations regarding staff and students. He thought through his recommendations including the high priority of what was the best decision for students. While visiting Todd Count this summer I asked Glenda Bell about Dr. Rochelle. My wife and I made an effort to visit his home and it was after dark and we missed a couple turns and then we traveled on to Clarksville to spend the night. I have very pleasant memories of Dr, Rochelle an I am saddened to learn of his passing! Charles Ed. Wilson, Former Supt Todd County Schools

To Myrna, Rita, Marvin, and others of Al's family:
On behalf of the Nickell and England families, I send our love and condolences to all. I can still recall the nights when, as a teenager, I would go with Daddy to see Al play basketball at South Christian and then at Vanderbilt We won't be able to attend the services tonight but will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. God's blessings to all. Johnnie
