I worked with Buddy over 38 years before my retirement last May. Buddy had been my boss for many of those years. Most of all he had been my friend for all those years. Rarely can anyone have that experience. Buddy and I both arrived for work very early each morning. We solved many of the world's problems during those early morning conversations. Well, at least we tried to. Buddy will be missed by Revenue. He will missed more by his friends! Buddy loved his family, he loved his church, he loved friends and he loved his work!

Buddy will be missed. He had a smile that would light up any room. I am going to miss hearing all of his stories, and seeing his smiling face. He made the workplace, a happy place. Thoughts, love, and prayers for the Hooks family.

Buddy was a warm and caring co-worker. Although I only knew him for a couple of years, I considered him a friend. Knowing Buddy, he probably considered me the same. He gave me wise & heartfelt advice when I started my management career with the State of Tennessee. And, he always had a positive word, or encouraging thought for anyone he encountered. I saw him stand his ground, I saw him moved to tears, and I saw him be decent, fair & honest in many dealings. Furthermore, he genuinely cared about those he worked with and served.
He is already sorely missed in the Andrew Jackson Building. And he will be for years to come. I am so sorry for your family's loss.
May God bless your family & comfort you in the days ahead.

Buddy was a great man and mentor, co-worker and friend. I will miss him daily and never forget some of his favorite phrases.
The sun is shining, The birds are singing and the money is rolling in. It's a good day.
I know the family is lost because he was truly one of a kind, great husband, father, grandfather and most of all a christian. He has earned his wings ten times over.
